HEMSWELL

In view of the fact that this Unit was withdrawn from operations on the night of 31.3.43. most of the Aircrew personnel were transferred to No. 300 Squadron, and some to No. 305 Squadron and authority for these moves was requested through R.A.F. Station. Hemswell.

HEMSWELL

No 3 Hangar occupied by the Squadron was vacated on this day and taken over by 300 Squadron Temporary accomodation was found in No 2 Hangar for the Orderly Room which was necessary to carry on administrative work in connection with the disbandment, the official date of disbandment being 7.4.43.

1943-04-05

HEMSWELL

From 7.4.43. to this date small numbers of ground personnel were posted to various other units including 305 Squadron. No 25 E.F.T.S. Hucknall, No 307 Squadron Exeter, 316 Squadron. Northolt and on 15.4.43. authority was received for the posting of 49 ground personnel to 300 Squadron with which Unit they had been working since 301 Squadron was withdrawn from Operations.

Eleven ground personnel posted on this date to No 16(P)S.F.T.S. Newton.

1943-04-18 – 1943-04-19

HEMSWELL

Authority was received by telephone from Record Office, Blackpool for 76 Ground personnel to proceed on 19.4.43. to No 138 Squadron, Tempsford. Posting instructions were received for the posting of 11 more ground personnel to No. 16(P)S.F.T.S. and proceeded on this date.

1 Equipment Assistant posted to No. 71 M.U. Slough. 3 Aircrew personnel posted to D.G.I.P. supernumery pending disposal. 2 more posted to Polish I.T.S. Brighton and 304 squadron respectively.
