Sgt. Pilot Malinowski. Hurricane II. Z.2673. At 1030 hours when landing at Kenley after an operational flight, the port oleo leg collapsed after 200 yards of landing run. The pilot reported that the under carriage was lowered as usual - the green starboard light lit up first and then the port one. At the moment of collapse of the port oleo leg the port light was out. As both lights were burning, the undercarriage hand pump was not used. Aircraft Cat.B. Pilot uninjured.
Place: Kenley, Date: 1941-04-28 – Sgt. Pilot Nastorowicz flying Hurricane II, Z.2814 at 30,000 ft. in formation with the rest of 302 Squadron off Dungeness, When his aircraft was seen to climb steeply, turn over and nosedive towards the sea . No trace of the pilot or the aircraft has since been found and for official purposes he is reported as missing believed killed. A report is attached.
Place: Kenley, Date: 1941-04-29 – Sgt. Pilot Domogala was flying Hurricane II Z.2342, at 27,000 ft over Dungeness, when his engine stopped and white smoke escaped from the exhaust pipes. Attempts to start the engine failed, and he eventually landed at R.A.F. Biggin Hill. Owing to loss of speed he made a heavy landing and the aircraft was damaged. Cat. B. The pilot was uninjured.
