Rhubard Operation. F/Lt. Lapkowski and P/O Waszkiewicz attacked an aerodrome and erection works. F/Lt. Arentowicz and F/O Feric failed to locate an aerodrome, but attacked buildings and F/O Feric produced sparks from various overhead powerlines. S/Ldr. Henneberg and F/Lt. Kustrzynski attacked Heinkels on the ground, and a large building near a Railway Station. F/Lt. Kustrzynski evidently silenced a gun position on the building, but S/Ldr Henneberg’s aircraft was damaged. He came down in the sea thirteen miles from the English coast and his position was reported by F/Lt. Kustrzynski. However he was not picked up and has been reported missing.

Both aircraft were damaged, and F/Lt Lapkowski was wounded and admitted to hospital. F/Lt. Lapkowski normally would have assumed command of the Squadron on S/Ldr. Henneberg being posted as missing. However while he was recovering from wounds F/Lt. Arentowicz acted temporarily as Officer Commanding Squadron.
