A very successful attack by the Squadron on various targets was combined with low escort duties with Hurricane bombers. Gas containers, barges and A.A. posts were effectively attacked. F/O Bienkowski shot dawn 1 Me. 109 which was attacking the Hurricanes, and P/O Horbaczewski scored a probable when he had recrossed the French coast owing to a compass error.

13.25. The Squadron left with the Wing on a cross channel sweep. Heavy flak was encountered, but nothing else of note occurred. P/O A. Glowacki posted from 611 Squadron.

11.00. The Squadron as apart of the Wing set off as close escort of the escort wing. The 10 Group support wing got rather in the way, and upset the Squadron formation. The Squadron however returned intact, but without causing loss to the enemy. For the Station this operation was not successful.

A Rhubarb operation in which the Squadron probably destroyed a distillery, shot up a good s train and a variety of gun posts. F/O Bienkowski had a bullet through his cockpit cover – where his head should have been, and P/O Lipinski lost six inches of each blade of his airscrew, yet all the same everyone returned.

The Squadron, with the Wing, did a sweep over Northern France. Cloud conditions were not good, and it was difficult for the Squadrons to maintain their stations. No enemy aircraft were encountered. F/Lt Zak posted to 58 O.T.U. Grangemouth.

The Squadron, with 308 Squadron maintained a patrol six miles of the Dunkirk coast while covering 315 Squadron who were escorting Hurricanes. Nothing of importance occurred.
