No operational flying carried out. Training flying: 12 Mustangs IV carried out formation flying being in the air 1.30 hrs. One Mustang I on Local flying exercise.

VE day – the day of a great Victory over Germen Forces. War announced by Mr. CHURCHIL to day. The Hitler’s Forces have been defeated by the Allies Forces and Europen havs been Libetated and became free again.
Released for whole personnel of this Unit except personnel standing by essential duties. Weather 7/10 cloud at height over 12.000 feet. Visibility 15 miles.

No operational flying or practice flying either. Personnel released off duty during afternoon hours. Weather 9/10 – 10/10 cloud at height 7 – 9.000 feet. Visibility 7- 8 miles.

Signa 0.488 dated 13.5.45 regarding movement of this Unit and 6303 Servicing Echelon has been received from Fighter Command today. The Squadron and 6303 Serving Echelon will move from R.A.F. Andrews Field to R.A.F. COLTISHALL on 16th, May, 1945.

Squadron and Servicing Echelon equipment loaded at Railway Station Braintree Essex where from the all transport will started. No operational or practice flying owing to move carried. Weather: 6/10 cloud – unlimited cloud. Visibility 18 miles. All personnel awaiting to move.

At 09.00 hrs approximately Main Railway Party moved from Railway station BRAINTREE to BAXTON LAMES where from service transport took to R.A.F. Coltishall, the place of a new location of this Unit. The aircraft flew direct to new place where landed safely at 17.15 hrs.

COLTISHALL

Squadron and Servicing Echelon personnel arrived from R.A.F. Station, Andrews Field to R.A.F. Station, Coltishall, by Rail at 14.00 hrs. Squadron landed at 17.15 hrs. Unleading of technical and personall equipment took place at Railway Station Baxton Lanes seen after arrival was effected. At 17.00 hrs. all equipment were located on the new place.
