Low cloud and heavy early morning ground mists have somewhat delayed the flying training programme throughout the month. Ground training however has been able to proceed as usual.
All pilots and observers have completed Initial training in the air. In advanced training they have yet to complete high altitude flying, short reconnaissances, and night flying.
Ground training Pilots and observers have finished advanced training except advanced navigational training. They have begun the operational training syllabus in signals, meteorology and photography. The four Air Gunners in the Squadron have completed Operational training and now only require exercises. Crew training commanced on Harwell Trainer.
Completed in month. 89 Cross Country Flights. 12 Formation Flights.
36 1/2 hours Instrument Flying. 9 Flights Low Level Bombing.
26 War Load Flights. 55 hours Link Trainer Flying.
Total Flying time for the month. DAY. 260 hrs 30 mins’ NIGHT NIL.

Notification received that Squadron will convert over Wellington Bombers. First two aircraft to be delivered 1st November, 1940.
