From the end of July to the end of September, [Illegible], a small number of highly-trained and well-disciplined pilots and ground staff together fought the Battle of Britain to a successful conclusion against a numerically superior and very efficient enemy. On this day, when we celebrate the most crushing single defeat which the Luftwaffe has suffered, let us remember these few who conquered so gloriously. Let us endeavour to deserve the security and liberty which they achieved for us, and by putting these gifts to the best use to accomplish final victory.
