16.15. F/Sgt. A. Kempczynski, with F/O. B.C. Kendall as passenger, took off from Thornaby across wind causing the aircraft to swing and drift and cause the aircraft to crash. There were no casaulties but the aircraft and engine were Cat. “B”. F/Sgt. A. Kepczynski subsequently had his log book endorsed.

On the first evening the 15 (S) Recce, division gave them a welcoming party which was very enjoyable. Throughout the weeks attachment the tree pilots and Intelligence Officer had a very interesting and enjoyable time.
