15.20. Eight pilots from 306 alongside pilots of 309/315 Squadrons took off Base and carried out a “Fly – Past” over BIRMINGHAM for the Victory Celebrations, and Thanks giving Week. Pilots landed back at Base by 16.15 hrs.

No flying today. Squadron personnel spent the day settling into new Quarters and Dispersal No. 5. P.2935 F/O ZYBORSKI, A proceeded to Headquarters Polish Air Force London for Special Interview. Pilots visited LLANGENNITH Range and had lecture of “Object of the Course”.

08.30. To 09.30 hrs Pilots were shown Cine Gun Films made previous day by Squadron. These film were shown in the Instructional Centre. P.2681 F/O WACNIK, S.K. proceeded to R.A.F. ASTON DOWN in order to ferry a new Mustang III aircraft on to Squadron charge.

Weather too bad for flying today. 08.30 hrs until 10.00 hrs Pilots were shown Cine Gun Films in the Instruction Centre. 10.00 hrs to 11.00 hrs a lecture on “Fixed Gun Sighting” by F/Lt HAILEY. 11.15 hrs to 12.15 hrs another lecture “20 MM. Hispano Gun” by Cpl WEST. In the afternoon pilots were given a further two lectures in the Instructional Centre on:- “The Gyro Gun Sight” – F/Lt BATTLEY, and R.A.F. Gen. No. 5 on Combat Films.
P.2681 F/O Pilot WACNIK, S returned to the Unit from R.A.F. Station ASTON DOWN.

Pilots spent the day in the Instructional Centre. 09.30 – 10.00 hrs on Cine Gun Films: 10.00 to 11.15 hrs a lecture by F/Lt BATTLEY on “The Gyro Gun Sight”. After lunch followed a lecture by Cpl WEST on the .5 and .303 Browning Guns.
