NEVERTHELESS I SAW SUFFICIENT TO REALISE THAT OUT WAR TIME STANDARDS WERE BEING WELL MAINTAINED. IT WOULD NOT BE FAIR TO CRITICISE OR COMPARE THE VARYING PERFORMANCES OF THE SQUADRONS WHICH COMPLETED THE EXERCISE BUT I CANNOT REFRAIN FROM MENTIONING 306 SQDN.
WHICH TOOK ADVANTAGE OD A FORTUNATE PATCH OF CLEARING WEATHER TO GIVE ANEXCELLENT DEMONSTRATION OF ACCURATE TIMING: PINPOINTING AND FORMATION KEEPING. THIS WAS OUR FINAL EXERCISE FOR 1945 AND I TAKE THE OPORTUNITY OF SENDING TO ALL RANKS MU THANKS AND APPRECIATION FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK SINCE “VE” DAY. TO ALL THOSE LEAVING THE SERVICE I ADD MY GOOD WISHES FOR THEIR FUTURE CARNERS.
