Prestenfields Edinburgh en route for repatriation to Poland.

G.S.A. Sorties in celebration with Ground Unit at R.A.F. Station TIBBENHAM. Pilots paid a visit to the Station and had the G.C.A. procedure explained to them together with a practical demonstration. Clay pigeon shooting at Coltishall on their return.

11.45. The Station crash tender was called out to a fire, presumed to be in the Bomb Dump. As the machine turned on the Perimeter track en route to the fire: just outside our Orderly Room in the Hangar Annexe, it overturned and two airmen were crushed to death. Another airman was severaly injured. The two airmen fatally injured were LAC TRZCINSKI and LAC WOZNIAK – both of 6306 Servicing Echelon. A Court of Inquiry was instituted, and several of our Squadron personnel gave Evidence.
P.2681 F/O WACNIK, S – Pilot – was reported within the Unit for duty as Supernumerary Squadron Adjutant. F/O WACNIK, S had just completed his first Operational Tour.
