09.50. Nine Pilots from 306 Squadron took off Base and carried out Wing Formation flying together with 309/315 Squadrons landing without incident at 10.45 hrs. Two Fitters One proceeded on detachment to R.A.F. Station East Moor for E.V.T. Plumbing Course in accordance with 12 Group Signal E.449 dated 5.6.46.

Weather: Cloudy but good visibility. Squadron Pilots participated in a With Formation flight from 16.00 to 16.40 hrs – nine aircraft – Uneventful.
Today being held as Celebration for the King Birthday, R.A.F. Station Coltishall was Visited by Air Vice Marshal IZYCKI the C.I.C. of the Polish Air Force who inspected the Camp. A Special Colour Parade was held, and several of the Polish Personnel were presented with Awards. After the Parade 306/309/315 Squadron Pilots gave a “Fly – Past” Salute, displaying fine Airmanship.

Training flying consisting of|:- Cloudy formations: Photo attacks: Local flying & Battle formation, was undertaken by Squadron Pilots. P.784331 W/O Krupa, W when taking off from Base at 14,45 hrs and engine trouble with his Mustang III aircraft. The engine “Cut” and Pilot crash landed on the S.E. side of the Aerodrome. Aircraft Cat “B” Provisionally, but no damage to W/O Krupa.

Weather: Fair to cloudy – good visibility. 1 Sgt and 6 a/cs returned to the Unit from No. 41 Squadron at Wittering. These ground crews had been loaned to 41 Squadron in order to reach a good maintenance level for the Air Force Fly Past over London on Victory Day. The Officer Commanding 41 Squadron sent a letter of appreciation to 306 Squadron for the hard work undertaken by our Polish ground crews.
