Weather: Cloudy with intermittent rain and showers, visibility good. No flying. F/O. P.2681 K.S.Wacnik promoted to the P.W.R. of Flight Lieutenant wef: 15.5.1946. On the Eve of the Squadron 6th Anniversary – all personnel of the unit and 6306 SERVICING Echelon as well celebrated on Stations Parade Ground the memory of pilots and ground crew who lost their lives while serving with the squadron, 41 names were mentioned.

Six years ago in September the 4th 1940 at Church Fenton 306 Squadron was organised as the Polish Fighter Squadron serving with RAF. Programme of the celebration included: Holly Mass in the morning, receptin in the N.2 Hangar, theatrical show in the afternoon and all ranks dance in the evening.

09.55. BATTLE OF BRITAIN UNNIWERSARY. Nine pilots from 306 Sqd, took off from Base for ‘Battle of Britain: Fly-past over London and Sothern Counties. It was magnificent display in very bad weather conditions. 10/10 of clous at 1500 feet. All a/c landed without incident at 12.00 hs. In the afternoon 3 a/c were carried out ‘Battle of Britain” Fly-past over Midlands as a combined squadron with 309 and 315 Sqdns. One a/c was detailed to RAF Station Marhame for grond display as than was opened to Public.

Weather: Cloudy with thunderstorms in the afternoon, visibility good. A.O.C. i/C of Fighter command, Air Marshall Sir James M. Robb and A.O.C. i/c of 11th and 12th Coups as well as C.Ic. OF Polish Air Force Air Vice Marshall M. Izycki arrived to Coltishall for farwell celebration to Polish Air Force Squadrons serving with RAF which are going to be disbanded. 306, 309, 315 and 318 Squadrons in sternght and delegates from 302, 303, 307, 308, 316 and 317 Squadrons were assembled on the Station Parade Ground. During the celebration RAF and PAF Ensignes were exchanged. There was a March-past and then after a fine air display in which took part 2 Meteors Sqdns. And all Polish Fighter Squadrons stationed in Great Britain.
12.20. 9 pilots from 306 sqd. Led by F/Lt Karnkowski took off from base for the last Fly-Past of Polish Fighter Squadrons. They landed at 13.10 without incident.

14.30. 4 pilots from 306 Sqd. led by F/Lt. Grzybowski took off from base for low-level exercise organised by Eastern Fighter Sector. They climbed up to 10,000 feet then descended to 200 feet and attacked from lov-level Ludham aerodrome. According to letter from Sector Navig. Off from 27 Sept. 46. – 306 Sqd. was dead on E.T.S. and made very fine approach and attack. All a/c landed at 15.40.
