02.15 Beaufighter VIF. X.7935 landed and reported that while under Hope Cove control contact at a range of 16.000 ft. was obtained followed two minutes later by a visual on a D.O.217 at 10.000 ft. Pilot closed to 4.000 ft. when he was observed by E/A which took violent evasive turns and opened ineffective fire and at the same time going down. Our pilot closed in and got in a series of bursts as E/A swung to and fro across his sight. At 3.000 ft. E/A was lost in the haze. Pilots of 604, 247 and 307 Squadrons reported seeing an E/A go down in flames at approximate time and one D.O.217 is claimed as destroyed. Pilot, F.O. K. Rach, Radio Observer, F.O. J. Mika.
02.25 Beaufighter VIF. X.8209 landed and reported that an A.I. contact had been obtained but lost before interception could take place.
02.35 Beaufighter VIF. X.7932 landed and reported an A.I. contact on an E/A at 4.000 ft. Visual on a D.O.217 was obtained at 3.000 ft. Very accurate return fire was experienced but our pilot weaved into position and fired three bursts. On the third burst a violent explosion was seen, the return fire ceased and E/A went down at 300 plus A.S.I. The Raio Observer reports that the blip broke into two. E/A was last in the haze at 2.000 ft. One D.O.217 is claimed as damaged. Pilot, Sgt. E. Wojczynski, Radio Observer, Sgt. E. Sluszkiewicz.
03.30 Beaufighter VIF. X.78149 landed and reported interception of Raid 88 and a visual obtained but proved to be a friendly aircraft. Pilot was the vectored behind Raid 120 but was called off by Sector.
03.55 Beaufighter VIF. X.8005 landed and reported a contact on an E/A ahead and 2.000 ft above. Visual then obtained ona D.O.217 which was 200 ft. above. E/A opened fire wildly and dived. Our pilot followed and gave a long burst and many strikes were seen. A second burst silenced the rear gunner. E/A dived at 330 A.S.I. into cloud at 2.000 ft. and was lost. 04.00 Beaufighter VIF. X.7935 landed and reported an attempt to intercept a fast outgoing E/A which faded before contact established.
04.05 Beaufighter VIF. X.7936 landed and reported no interceptions.
Day weather conditions were again excellent and training continued. Weather at night was operational and again enemy aircraft raided Weston-super-Mare

03.00 Beaufighter VIF. X.8013 landed and reported two attempted interceptions ending in a contact which was lost.
03.05 Beaufighter VIF. X.7935 landed and reported contact with E/A 4.000 ft. below and dead ahead. Visual on D.O.217 obtained almost at once with E/A silhouetted against the sea. Our pilot dived to 11.000 feet and closed in from below to 200 yards. E/A was weaving slightly and our pilot, giving a three seconds burst from below and astern saw strikes on the port wing outboard of the engine and flaming pieces broke off. Bandit turned to port, dived to 8.000 ft. and levelled out. Our pilot closed to 150 yards and gave a long burst from below again at the port engine. Immediately the engine exploded and pilot saw a sudden sheet of flame. During the second burst E/A opened fire but without effect. E/A went into a gentle glide and our pilot followed down to 1.000 ft. and saw the E/A well on fire, hit the sea. One D.O.217 claimed as destroyed. Pilot, F/Sgt. R. Turzanski, Radio Observer Sgt. H. 04.05 Beaufighter VIF. X.7936 landed at Midddle Wallop as weather was closing down at Exeter and reported no interceptions. Beaufighter VIF. X.8209 landed and reported no interceptions.
05.10 Beaufighter VIF. X.8108 landed at Midddle Wallop owing to bad weather at Exeter and reported that he had been vectored after a raid going South which faded. There were no subsequent interceptions. Day weather conditions were good and training continued. At night weather was operational but there was no flying before midnight and no enemy activity in the area.
