Interception practise with 306 in morning, in afternoon Sweep. SURMA and KRAWCZYNSKI both get an M.E. Poplawski, when being chased by two, cleverly manoeuvres and swerves and leads one of the Jerries into the water.

Bomber escort over France. Bombers are attacked and Squadron gets into scrap. No results seen. BUDZALEK;s machine seen crashing with M.E., pilot of which bales out. Squadron return after 2 hours. Piatkowski force lands at West Malling on return.

Escort cover over Abbeville – 308 on top – No encounter.

Released until 1600 hours. Sweep planned for the afternoon called off owing to bad weather.

Escort over Rouen – 308 below – M.E.s try to attack bombers – Pisarek (1), Ilinski (1), Surma (2), shot down 4. Palej force lands at Thams on return.

Escort cover – 308 in Middle. M.E.s attack – Pisarek, Janus, Wesolowski, Poplawski claim 1 each Zielinski (2), Wandzilak (1) claim probables. Pilots return to Northolt individually.

In afternoon Squadron set off to Redhill to start for flight to Amiens, but this is called off and Squadron return to Northolt.

Over Amiens as High Cover, 308 on top. Series of fights develop and Squadron return individually. Krzyzagorski gets 1 M.E. and damaged 2, all three of which were attacking F/Lt. Wesolowski. Watolski destroys one and then later is attacked by 3 M.E.s and has to bale out. Poplawski claims 1 and Surma a probable. Poplawski lands at Biggin Hill. Machine riddled.

Squadron at 30 minutes. Many pilots sent on leave – strength of wing to be two Squadrons. Demonstration in swiming pool on how to use dinghies. P/O Szyszkowski of 306 chosen to give “wet” demonstration.
