1944-11-01
B-61, Ghent.
One mission flown today only, Dive bombing attack on enemy H.Q. in the Flushing area, in which 12 a/c took part. All bombs were observed in the target area. 4 direct hits being scored. The target was also strafed with cannon and m/g fire. Intense flak from target area was encountered.
1944-11-02
The Squadron was dispatched in the morning to attack enemy mortar positions and troop barracks near Breda. The target was dive-bombed by 12 a/c and strafed as planned.
Later in the day the Squadron took off again to dive-bomb enemy gun positions. The target was successfully attacked, 16 bursts being observed among the enemy guns, the rest of the bombs all placed well within the target area. In spite of intense and fairly accurate ack ack fire, the target was strafed.
1944-11-03
The Squadron operated in sections of 4 a/c, sections taking off at 25 minutes intervals, all on armed recce in the Utrecht-Appledoorn area. First section dropped its bombs on a railway crossing, claiming direct hits. Second section dive bombed a bridge over canal South of Utrecht, and the third Section attacked enemy barges also South of Utrecht. Considerable opposition from enemy ack ack.
1944-11-04
The Squadron took off in the morning to dive bomb gun and mortar positions near Wegenberge. Most of the bombs were well placed, causing explosions and fires. Later the target and adjoining huts suspected of housing the guns crews, were strafed, one of the huts being set of fire.
Later in the day 3 sections of four a/c were sent out to attack suspected V2 sites in the Willemstead region north of the Mass river. Four bombs were dropped on flak positions, one direct hit being observed. The second section dive bombed a fort near Willemstaad, all bombs observed in the north part of the target. Third section attacked what was suspected to be a v2 launching site, with unobserved result.
1944-11-05
Three patrol flights carried out today by sections of 4 a/c, in the Dordrecht-Numansdorp area. Four MET were destroyed as a result, one of our a/c shot down, pilot safe.
1944-11-06
The Squadron continues operations in sections of 4 a/c as yesterday, in the Zwolle-Arnhem area. A train was dive bombed at a railway station by one section, the second section attacking a rail bridge. The third section obtained a cut in the rail line near Zwolle. Flak of various intensity encountered.
Further three sections take off later in the day, for armed recce patrols in the same area. A rail station was attacked and several hits observed, as well as a train at the Gouda station. This train was set on fire and a hit observed on the station buildings. A further bomb load was dropped on ground targets in the area.
Ten a/c were later dispatched to attack a train on the Zwolle-Marderwijk line. The target was located and dive bombed, many direct hits being observed. The squadron then proceeded to strafe the train, and several cars were set on fire. One of our a/c was hit and brought down by flak, which was intense and accurate.

No operations today due to bad weather.
1944-11-08

Four a/c in sections operating independently on armed recce in the Utrecht-Dordrecht-Gorinchen area brought back good results, in spite of poor visibility. The following are claimed: 4 MET destroyed, 1 MET damaged, 1 motor cycle destroyed, and 20 goods wagons shot up by cannon and m/g fire.

Two weather recces were flown only by two sections of two a/c each. Weather prevented all other operations.
1944-11-10 to 1944-11-15
No flying due to bad weather and unserviceability of landing strip.

3 a/c tests flown only today. Weather still un-operational.

No flying due to bad weather.
1944-11-19
Two a/c are dispatched to locate a target in the Arnhem area. This target was located and the entire squadron sent out to attack it with bombs. Several hits were observed in the target and in the area. Fairly intense flak observed.
1944-11-20
Rain all day, ‘drome u/s.
1944-11-21
Bacause of reported enemy air activity over the front, the Squadron as dispatched on a Fighter Sweep of the area N.E. of Nijmegen. No enemy a/c were seen and the mission proved uneventful.
1944-11-22 to 1944-11-27
Bad weather and poor conditions of landing strip prevented all operations.
1944-11-28
A section of 2 a/c take off on weather recce, and at 11.15 hrs Squadron takes off to attack enemy strong positions West od Dunkirk. Many bombs were seen in the target area, and intense light flak encountered from Dunkirk.
1944-11-29
12 a/c take off to dive bomb enemy positions near Nijmegen. Many direct hits were observed and the target strafed with cannon and m/g fire. Much flak of light and heavy calibre.
Once again the Squadron takes off in the afternoon to attack enemy positions East of Nijmegen. Ten hits were seen in the Northern part of target, enemy oppositions weak.
1944-11-30
Three missions were carried out today by sections of 4 a/c, all armed recce in the Amersfoort-Zwolle-Enschede area. Many trains were spotted and attacked. A goods train, procedding towards Deventer was dive-bombed, as a result of which the loco. was destroyed, and several goods wagons damaged. A further bag of 2 locos. Damaged and wagons shot up was encountered. A number of trains could not be attacked owing to shortage of ammo.
