In connection with the exercise with the 36 Brigade, Captain Worledge, A.L.O. and F/O Sadowski (Observer) left for Campbeltown at about 0930 hours. They arrived safely at Abbotsinch aerodrome and took off again at 13.36 hours and afterwards the aircraft was reported missing.

Captain Worledge and F/O Sadowski still missing and it is almost certain that they crashed into the sea off Toward Point, Buteshire, Scotland, about 1350 hours on the 9th February. This news was received from the Skelmorlie Police, Ayrshire.

Victor 2.A comprehensive Signals and Administrative exercise commenced at 0001 hours. Squadron received orders to move to Findogask, Perthshire, at 2359 hours. Conference of all Officers under the Squadron Leader held at 0300 hours and orders issued to Echelons A, B, C. to move at once.
Road party of Echelon A moving off at 0630 hours, and B and C at 2 hours intervals. Aircraft to move at 0900 hours. Air party left at 0900 hours. Signal received “Invasion alert one in force 1230 hours today”. All Signal messages sent in Cypher, day and night watch kept. Three aircraft at 15 minutes readiness, and three at 30 minutes.

W/Cdr. Pistl, F/Lt Wolf, S/Ldr. Lukinski, returned from Polish H.Q. It was definitely confirmed that the Tiger Moth flown by Captain Worledge and F/O Sadowski as Observer had crashed into the Firth of Clyde at Toward Point on the 9-2-42. (Victor 2) Dawn patrol ordered by 32 Wing.
