RAMROD 343 11 aircraft of this Squadron together 10 of 306 Squadron acted as close escort to 72 Marauders bombing Lille / Vandeville A/F. The bombers were 5 minutes late at R/V. Height at R/V 12,000 feet. Good bursts were observed on runways and dispersal areas. Explosion seen at N.E corner of target. Flak small medium at 10.000 feet from S.W. corner of aerodrome. No E/A seen. Weather: Ground haze up to 3/4,000 feet, clear sky above.

. 9 aircraft of this squadron with 12 of 306 Squadron acted as close escort to Marauders bombing Lille / Vandeville A/F. The wing was led by S/Ldr Karnoski (306 Sqdn). This operation was abandoned approximately halfway to target owing to 10.10 cloud at 3,000 feet. Heavy flak was experienced estimated to come from Boulogh area.

RAMROD 351. 12 aircraft together with 11 of 306 Squadron, led by W/C Zak, acted as close escort to 2nd and 5th formation of Marauders attacking St. Josse and Ligescourt, Pas de Calais area. According to plan. Bombing was not observed owing to ground haze. There was no flak and no E/A was seen. Weather: Cloud formation coming from S.E. slowly covering target area. Base 4,000 feet Visibility fair.
S/Ldr J. Poplawski attached to R.A.F. School of Army Co-Operation until the 14th.

RAMROD 363. 11 aircraft together with 11 of 306 Squadron, led by W/C Zak, acted as escort to 72 Marauders bombing Amsterdam – Schipol A/D. Took off from Coltishall where instructions were received too late to make rendezvous as detailed in Form D. The wing was ordered to make a sweep over the target area. Height over R/V 13,000 feet. During sweep wing was attacked by 12 F.W. 190’s between Zandvoort and Noordwijerhout. F/O Wal was forced to land in Holland owing to engine trouble. Heavy flak over target area. One fighter and one bomber U/I seen in flames. Weather: Clear, Visibility 10 miles over Holland.
Warrant Officer A. Chudek was decorated with the D.F.M. by Air Vice Marshal L.O. Brown C.B.E., D.S.C., A.F.C., A.O.C No. 84 Group. The ceremony which took place was attended by officers of R.A.F. Station, Heston 133 Airfield and Squadron together with detachments of airmen.
