1944-02-01
F/O Majewski posted to this unit from No. 61 O.T.U. Readiness from 08.17 to 18.17. No flying carried out owing to adverse weather conditions. A lecture on Army Co-operation was given to pilots.
1944-02-02
Readiness from 08.18 to 18.19. Training flying as follows carried out during day: seventeen formation flying exercises; battle formation & formation flying & dog-fighting; two navigational flights, and one low flying flight; and four cloud flying exercises.

Training flying continued in the following forms: nine a/c formation flying & two battle formation: two a/c engaged in G.C.I. interception exercises: one a/c attacking a flight, and one a/c attacking a minesweeper.

Readiness from 08.16 to 18.20. No flying carried out owing to adverse weather conditions. Some clay pigeon shooting, and P.T. exercises were carried out. Nothing further to report.

Trainign flying as hereunder was carried out during the day: twenty exercises in flight formation flying; battle formation flying exercises; six exercises in battle formation & dog-fighting; two cloud flying exercises, and one “driver” exercises; three other driver exercises. Nothing of importance or interest occurred during the day.

Readiness from 08.14 to 13.00. Trainign flying carried out in the form of: nine a/c doing formation & battle formation flying; thirteen a/c on squadron & battle formation flying; two a/c in cloud flying exercises, and on a/c in low flying exercises.

The weather was not suitable for flying, however, nine pilots carried out battle formation and low flying exercises, while one other pilot carried out aerobatic exercises.

Only training flying executed today in the form of: eighteen a/c on formation flying & battle formation flying; and twelve a/c took part in night flying.

Readiness from 08.10 to 13.00. Training flying as follows: twenty battle formation & formation flying exercises; dog fighting, low flying, and aerobatic exercises were also carried out.

Readiness from 08.05 to 18.30. No flying possible owing to adverse weather. Pilots were given practise in silhouette recognition.

Readiness from 08.00 to 18.32. Training flying executed as follows: eight sleeve target firing exercises; two sector recco flights; one artilery co-operation exercise; and six exercises in squadron, and battle formation flying, and low flying.

Four a/c took part in operational flying, the pilots being: F/Lt Kaczmarek, F/Sgt Bartlomiejczyk, W.O Marek, and F/Sgt Jaskolski. Four a/c carried out “test” flights, while four others carried out “Blue Founding” patrol over convou. A lecture given to pilots on Tank recognition.

Readiness from 07.52 to 18.40. No flying carried out owing to adverse weather conditions. Whole squadron engaged on preparations for the move of the squadron to Woodvale.

Readiness from 07.45 to 18.45. Fourteen a/c flew to Woodvale where the Squadron was to move to on the 15th.

Readiness again as on the 16th. At Woodvale fourteen a/c carried out sector recco.

Readiness from 07.30 to 19.00. Unsuitable weather prevented extensive flying, and the only flying which was able to be done, was six a/c exercises in army co-operation.

Readiness from 07.28 to 19.00. Training flying carried out as follows: twenty two flight formation exercises and dog fighting exercises: three sector recco, and low flying exercises.

Readiness from 07.26 to 19.04. It was raining all day, thus no flying was carried out. Some rifle shooting was carried out.
