The unconditional surrender of Germany was announced. No flying by any of our aircraft. W/O Noga and Sgt. Wiewiorowski were posted to the Squadron from No. 61 O.T.U. for flying duties. This, as VE Day was declared a holiday.

Again celebrated as a holiday. No flying by our aircraft.

Seven a/c were engaged in Training formation flying, and one carried out a Sector Recce. Flight.

The Squadron carried out formation flying practice and, in addition, one a/c was air tested.

The Squadron again practised formation flying. W/O Jaskolski was posted to the Squadron from P.A.F. Depot for flying duties.

The Squadron moved from R.A.F. Andrews Field to R.A.F. Coltishall. The move was carried out by road, rail and air.

One of “B” Flight’s a/c did local flying, seven carried out practice formation flying and one was flown to Hendon and back. Four a/c of “A” Flight carried out formation flying photo attack practice, two did local flying and Sector recce., and one was flown to Barrow-in-Furness, Rednal and back to base.

Eight a/c did Low Navigational Flying Practice, and one a/c was air tested.

Flight Lieutenant Janusz Walawski D.F.C., was killed in a road accident near Bury St. Edmunds.

One a/c was flown to Newton, Andrews Field and back to base. Four a/c carried out air to sea firing practice.

The Squadron carried out air –to-sea firing practice, aerobatics and dive bombing practice and photo camera aerobatics. One a/c was air-tested and flown cross-country to Andrews Field.

Six aircraft carried out Navigational flying training, and one was flown to Andrews Field and back.

The Squadron carried out Exercises in Dive-Bombing, Low Flying, Aerobatics, Navigational Flying and Sector Recco.
